We Are What We Do - Competition

JY's Big Night
I am WJ, JY's sister. I feel very,
very proud of my brother.
Yesterday my brother, sister, Mum, Grandma, Auntie, Miss
Macdonald and Miss Roebuck walked to Marylebone station. We
took the tube to Oxford Circus and then changed and went on the
Victoria tube. My brother told Miss Macdonald he was feeling
very nervous.

It was quite a long walk to get there, we had
to go through this gate and there was signs on the walls and doors.
We walked upstairs into a large and massive room. At first
there was two sofas and on the floor there was lots of books for
little children to read. There were toys as well. On another
bit, there was a table selling 'Teach your Granny How to Text &
other Ways to Change the World' We bought one and my
brother started to open the book and started to search for his page.
He eventually found the page and started to show everyone.

There was large posters put up all around. On another table
there was a table full of white, green, red and yellow
gingerbread-men, which most of them had the sentence, 'Teach your
Granny how to Text.' We took photos of it. My brother
was very excited when he saw the table then it led to a large hall
with out any doors, the hall had two rooms, one for little children
to ice the gingerbread men.

The other room was for adults to watch the young speakers to
speak and act. On other long, long tables there were free
biscuits, drinks, wine and others. After a while there were
people having a presentation. JY was waiting patiently
to see Nick have his presentation. At last it was JY's turn to talk. He called out Erica's name first, because she
was the girl who thought of the idea, teach your granny how to text.
The second was my brother's name. He was feeling proud of
himself too. When the presentation was finished my brother
talked and had a conversation with Nick. My brother also gave
him a bit of his gingerbread man to Nick and he ate it. We got
stickers and stamps which the stamps said, 'We Are What We Do.'
We had such a brilliant time, especially JY.
