Rights and Responsibilities
We used the Unicef cards and sorted them into those that
we want and those that we need.

We decided that things that we need are rights. We all
deserve to have these things.
We are not sure that we get enough:

Play –too many chores and too much homework

The freedom to practise your own beliefs, culture
and language - Sometimes children are mean if you
are different.

The opportunity to express your opinion and be
listened to – If we have been bad in the past
teachers don’t believe us in future.
We thought about Rights that we have in the playground
E.G. the right to play safely, to have equipment that is
in good condition etc
Class Council:
We need to generate some Playground Rules based on our
rights. Have a class council to think of as many as you
can. Your councillor will bring them to the next meeting
and then we will start to think about responsibilities.
