RE in Key Stage 1

RE is taught once a week in Years 1 and 2 and work is based around various key concepts. Children initially learn about concepts such as Change and Specialness before going on to learn about religion within the concept.  For example, in Year 1 children learn about special people in their lives and then relate this to special figures in different religions. Christianity and Judaism are the main religions taught within this Key Stage.

Children learn through drawings, sequencing, role play, circle time, writing and stories.
