RE in the Foundation Stage

For children in Nursery and Reception RE is taught within the Early Learning Goal - Knowledge and Understanding about the World.  Children learn about some basic concepts such as Celebration, Specialness and Family and have the chance to explore these concepts within different religions.

For example, when learning about Celebration children will discuss the different types of celebrations they have encountered (Birthdays, Eid, New Baby) before going on to learn more about the various important dates celebrated within a particular religion (E.g. Christians celebrating Easter, Muslims celebrating Eid.).
