Curriculum - Physical Social Health Citizenship
Education (PSHCE)
PSCHE
PSCHE
stands for personal, social, health and citizenship education. PSCHE
lessons are taught through two half an hour class assembly
sessions timetabled into all classes weekly timetable. We
want to enable all of our children to reach
their full potential and raise levels of self-esteem and self-respect.
Through these sessions we take time to promote a better understanding
of and pride in the community, culture and beliefs of all
children, provide opportunities for children to question,
make informed judgments and choices about things they
see, hear or feel, understand the importance of maintaining
a healthy lifestyle and strategies and attitudes that will
empower them to do this, encourage individuals to participate
as a citizen of the school and wider community and recognise
the rights and responsibilities of themselves and others.
The children are taught through a varied curriculum of games
and problem solving tasks, some of which are completed as
part of a team and some individually.
