What is Geography?

Geography is learning about the natural world and the human world and linking them together.

Through Geography we develop knowledge of places and environments around the world.

This helps children to think about their own place in the world and what their rights and responsibilities are towards other people and the environment.

Key Stage One Geography

In the Infants we develop our skills and practice finding things out about:

  • Our local area

  • The wider world using geographical skills and maps/photos.

  • People, places and environments.

Key Stage Two Geography

In the Juniors we use all of our skills to find out more about:

  • Local area

  • A contrasting environment

  • The weather

  • Rivers

  • Settlements

  • Environmental change.
