Walk On Wednesday
Every Wednesday we encourage the children to walk to
school and collect ticks on their card to prove they have. If you walk
to school every Wednesday in the month then you get a beautiful badge!
This year we have also taken part in the competition to design the
badges for next year's programme, so maybe one of our designs will
turn up!
This year there is going to be a competition between houses
to see which house has the most children who walk to school in
it! Teachers will add stickers to children's names on a Wall
Chart when they walk to school and these will be counted up
and added together to see which house is the fittest. The
winning house will get a bumper load of house points and
possibly a special prize.
In their class children will be able to record how many
times they walk to school and at the end of the month make a
footprint to join together to see how far we have walked.
There is also another competition to design a flyer to be
put on the back of the newsletter to encourage parents to walk
instead of driving everyday.
